Pet Monkey Bites Man's Ear in Miami, Florida

Authorities have apprehended a monkey after it bit a man's ear. At around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a home in the area of Southwest 134 Avenue and 52nd Street.

Resident Eduardo Monteagudo said he witnessed the attack. https://askcompetentlawyer.com/ "He was cooking and the monkey got on his shoulder and when he saw it, he tried to hit it and it bit him on the ear," he said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue tried to coax the monkey from the roof with a banana. "He was just too scared. Every time someone would move or make noises, he would show his teeth, which is an aggression in monkeys," said Miami-Dade Venom Response Unit Lieutenant Lisa Wood.

The black and white Capuchin eventually came down from the roof and went into the back yard. Animal Control then opened a cage and the monkey went straight into it. The monkey is now in the care of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. Authorities now have to find the monkey's owner. "Whoever owns him should have a permit to have him. There may be some repercussions for him being loose, I don't know," said Wood. Reportedly the monkey has been loose before.
